This two-semester course includes classroom instruction and lab experience, which introduces students to terminology, and skills used in food service and dietary science careers. Through career exploration, students become familiar with the necessary requirements to enter into many food service and dietary service careers. Career-related skills emphasized include time management, laboratory organization, government regulations, equipment usage, and food preparation. Students receiving an "A" or "B" are eligible for articulated credit in the Triton program. The consumer education requirement is fulfilled during first semester.
