When work is dueWork is due on the date given—unless
there is an EXCUSED absence. For students with excused absences, work
previously assigned is due on the day the student returns to school.
Late work is subject to a penalty. There are no exceptions for assignments/work handed
in late. Work turned in late is subject to a 10% reduction in grade/points
earned for each day it is late.
For example, a paper (point value
= 50pts.) that is due on Monday is handed in on Tuesday (one day late).
The maximum total points that could be earned on that paper is 45
(90% of 50). If it is handed in on Wednesday (two days late), the maximum
points that could be earned is 40 (80% of 50), and so on.
Certainly, your best choice is to
be on-time. Keep in mind that your grade is based on total points.
Strive to get work in—even if you are late! 40 points (a low
B), is better than 0 points (a definite F).
