Course Description:
Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year all students will have Google Apps accounts. There are dozens of tools that make up Google Apps that reach far beyond just email. This course will introduce you to a few of these tools. There will also be a focus on establishing your own professional learning network so that you can continue to learn how and why you can integrate these and other web tools in your teaching and learning after this course is over.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Learn how to use Google Docs to collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Learn how to create Google Forms
- Learn how to set up a blog using Blogger
- Learn how to set up a web site using Sites
- Learn how to set up your own YouTube channel and post your own videos and screencasts
- Learn how to expand your professional learning network by easily following your favorite blogs, Twitter accounts, and other RSS feeds using Google Reader
- Learn how to use Google Bookmarks
- Learn how to use iGoogle to help manage everything from one dashboard/start screen
