Reminders from the Deans’ Office: Electronics are to be out of sight and off from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Students are not to wear color combinations of pink/black, yellow/black, or gold/black. Gentlemen may not wear yellow shirts or pink shirts at any time. Leyden shirts maybe worn only with blue jeans. The ladies may not combine the yellow and pink with black. Leyden wear may not be worn with black pants. The Deans' Office wants you to have a safe and successful school year. 8/19

Register with Selective Service: If you aren't registered with Selective Service, get on it! Federal law says all men living in the U.S. must register within a month of their 18th birthday. Registering keeps us eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs and driver's license renewal in most states. And if you're a male immigrant seeking U.S. citizenship, you HAVE to be registered. You can get a Selective Service registration card at the post office or register online at www.sss.gov. Register today, your future depends on it. 8/19

Attention all students: if you are absent due to a doctor excused illness or doctor's appointment and return to school with a medical note from a doctor; please bring those notes to the Nurse's Office not the Attendance Office. All doctors’ notes for absences will be recorded and maintained by the Nurse’s Office. 8/19

Student Council:  Do you want to get involved, but just don't know how? Then Student Council is the club for you!  Our first meeting will be held Monday, August 22nd, in room 154 at 3:00. Come join us as we prepare for homecoming and other school events. Hope to see you there!  8/22

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha...Dracula auditions are Monday, August 22 at West and Tuesday, August 23 at East in the auditoriums.  Don't miss out on your opportunity to be a part of this SUPER SCARY show.  We need actors, techies and fresh bodies for the king of darkness!  For more information, check out the Fine Arts link on the Leyden website under announcements!  Bwahahahahahahaha! 8/22

Theater Guild: Have you dreamed of being on stage? Or would you rather build the set, hang the lights, sew a costume or put make-up on? If your answer is yes you need to come to the first meeting of the Theater Guild this coming Monday in the Auditorium at 3pm. We will discuss our upcoming shows, theatrefest and our field trips. Come one come all - refreshments will be served!! 8/22

The Ripple Effect club is having its first meeting of the year next Tuesday, August 23rd period 11 in Room 252. This club volunteers in helping children in some of the poorest parts of the world like Haiti and Africa. New members welcome. Bring a friend. Come sign up for our
first field trip of the year.

Come to the first French Club meeting of the year on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 3:00 in room 206.  We'll be talking about the year's events and celebrating "la rontray day class"!!  See Ms. Nordmeyer in room 206 for more information! 8/23

Did you read an ABE LINCOLN book this summer?  If you did, please come to the library and sign-up for SCOOP and SKYPE! On Wednesday, August 24, in the inner-court at the West Campus, we'll have an ice cream social.  Immediately following, we'll head upstairs to the library and SKYPE with author, Todd Strasser. GraceNotes: Attention all FRESHMAN and SOPHOMORE LADIES!!!!  Do you like to sing?  Audition for the GraceNotes!  This group sings for all the concerts and our Annual Yuletide Dinner!  Auditions are after school on Tuesday, August 23 at WEST and Wednesday, August 24 at EAST.  You only need to come to one day of auditions!  Stop by the choir room and see Miss C if you have any questions!  Or visit Miss C's Webpage for more info! 8/23-24

Orchesis: Hey students, do you have a passion for dance? Join Orchesis, Leyden High School's performing arts and choreography club. With styles ranging from jazz to hip hop, modern to ballet, Orchesis is a great opportunity to improve dance technique, perform and most of all have fun! The informational meeting will be at the West campus next Wednesday August 23th at 3:45 in the dance room.  8/19

The weight room will be open starting Mon., August 29th after school from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Tennis: Anyone one who is still interested in joining girls tennis please meet at the East or West Tennis Courts at 3:30 or see Coach Smith East room 147 or Coach Jackson at the West Student Service office. 8/19
