    Today is the last day the snack bar will be open this semester. – Ms. Kujawa (12/13)

    The Bookstore / Cashier hours next week Monday - Thursday, are 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for students needing to return semester textbooks and novels or to make payments on fines or fees before the winter break. The Bookstore / Cashier will be CLOSED Friday, December 20. – Ms. Gerue (12/20)

    Leyden, it’s the time of year to get together in support of our community, and what better way to do that than participate in the Food Drive Competition with your second period classroom! The Leyden Food Pantry is in need of non-perishables like canned fruit, cereal, pancake mix, and more. You can give back by bringing in items like these to your second period classroom. The three classrooms with the most donations will win a donut party! – Ms. Dix (12/13)

    The library has some pretty interesting displays for you to check out this month!  On our Give the Gift of Reading display, surprise yourself by picking out a book that is wrapped up.  We also have a holiday display with books to celebrate all winter holidays.  The best part...you get to check it out over the whole winter break! – Ms. Caneva (12/13)

    Bonjour, East Leyden! In an effort to "chill out before finals" the French Club is welcoming everyone in a friendly contest of "Holiday Door Decorations". Decorate your classroom or office door with a holiday theme of your choice by Monday, December 16.  A group of judges will go around the school to select a winner. Winners will receive Donuts!  Decorations will be judged based on: originality, creativity, completeness and craftsmanship. – Mr. George (12/16)

    Auditions for the spring musical, The 26th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, are today, at 3:30 in the West Auditorium.  This is going to be a super fun show, don't miss your opportunity to be part of something big!  We need tech, singers, dancers, actors, painters, we need everybody!

    Hey, hey Recyclers!  If you want to help keep East Leyden GREEN and earn some service hours, then join our recyclers for our LAST pick up of 2019 today.  Drop your belongings off in Room 292 anytime between 2:30 & 3:30 and join our recyclers in the halls to pick up the paper and plastic.  Treats are always available when we are done.  Hope to see you there! - Ms. Bylinski (12/13)

    Attention Sophomores & Juniors, there is NEW information regarding changes to summer school enrollment. Registration for enrollment in Consumer Ed in summer school will take place in January. Students who wish to take Consumer Ed as a summer enrichment course will have the option to choose either an online course or an in-seat summer school course.  Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. on January 21 and will remain open until it is full.  Students will be enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis and must pay the $125 summer school fee at the time of registration.

    All other summer school course registration outside of Consumer Ed will follow the same registration procedures beginning later in second semester.

    Congratulations to the Girls' Bowling Team for their 62-pin victory over Morton last night at Stardust Bowl.  The Eagles were lead by East Junior Jenna Batson, who celebrated her birthday with a 532 series to lead the Eagles to their 2nd consecutive conference win.  West Freshman Breanna Pimentel's 511 series and East Junior Yazmin Aguilar's 504 series played key roles as well.  Great Job Girls, and Happy Belated Birthday Jenna! - Coach Aylward (12/13)
