Summer school registration opens

Summer school words on a sunny yellow backdrop

Registration for credit recovery summer school opens January 7 and runs through March 16 for Session 1, and May 31 for Session 2. It is a great time to secure a place in the courses needed to meet graduation requirements, as space is limited.

Session 1: Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 25

Session 2: Monday, July 6 - Thursday, July 23

*No classes July 29 - July 3

West Leyden High School

8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. daily

Courses
The following classes will be offered in Sessions 1 and 2: Algebra I, Biology, English I, Global Studies, Physical Science, Integrated English and Integrated Math. They are each worth .50 credit and cost $95. Daily attendance is required. These courses take place in a classroom setting and are led by teachers.

Leyden utilizes a credit recovery program called APEX. Students are required to attend class on-site, where they work with a teacher daily. While the teacher provides support, students move through the course at their own pace. The following classes are offered in this format, during Sessions 1 and 2: Algebra II, Consumer Education, English II, III, IV, Geometry, and U.S History. They are each worth .50 credit and cost $95.

Please note, Session 1 is intended as credit recovery for first semester classes and Session 2 is intended for credit recovery for second semester classes.
