Summer school 2024
Summer school will be held at West Leyden starting June 10 and will run through July 25, 2024.
Registration for incoming freshmen runs January 18 - 22, Consumer Education for juniors and seniors January 18 - April 30 and for all other courses and upperclassmen, January 18 - May 31.
There will be two class sessions:
Session 1: 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Monday, June 10 - Thursday, June 13
Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21 (off Wednesday, June 19)
Monday, June 24 - Thursday, June 27
-No classes July 1 - July 5-
Session 2: 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m
Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11
Monday, July 15 - Thursday, July 18
Monday, July 22 - Thursday, July 25
CREDIT RECOVERY COURSES OFFERED (these will be taught in-seat):
Semester 1 Algebra I, English I, Global Studies, Biology and Physical Science will be offered during Session 1. Monday June 10 - Thursday, June 27. Daily attendance is required.
Semester 2 Algebra I, English I, Global Studies, Biology and Physical Science will be offered during Session 2. Monday, July 8 - July 25. Daily attendance is required.
ONLINE CREDIT RECOVERY
The following online credit recovery courses will be offered; Algebra II, Consumer Education, English II, English III, English IV, Geometry, Physical Education and U.S. History.
Online Credit Recovery courses will be facilitated by a teacher, using the Apex online curriculum. These courses are available for both Semester I and Semester II. They will be offered during Session 1 (Monday, June 10 - June 27) and Session 2 (Monday, July 9 - July 25). Daily attendance is required until all course work is completed.
Tuition and Payments
Tuition is $125 per .50 credit. Courses will be closed when registrations have reached maximum size or canceled if there is insufficient paid registration. Seats will be filled on first-come, first-served basis and enrollments past the listed deadline will be considered based on space availability. Students should see their counselor if they have questions regarding summer courses.
Option #1: Online Enrollment. (Avoid lines and save time)
Go to MySchoolBucks.com under the Parents tab on the Leyden website to enroll students and make a payment using a credit/debit card (Visa/MasterCard/Discover/American Express) or checking account.
Option #2: On-site enrollment at each campus. Cashiers at each campus will enroll students and accept payment. Cashiers can accept cash, checks or credit/debit cards (Visa/MasterCard/Discover/American Express). Checks should be made payable to: Leyden High School. The Cashier hours are: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Full payment will be due at the time of registration, and refunds will only be issued if a course is canceled due to insufficient enrollment. Fees also apply to courses to be audited without credit.
We will offer bus transportation to students who live within the district and are more than 1.5 miles from West Leyden High School.

Driver Education Behind-The-Wheel Instruction will be held at the West Campus
Registration opens April 2 and will close on April 30. The cost is $250.00.
In order to register for behind-the-wheel, students must:

have completed and passed the Driver Education and Safety class or are currently enrolled and passing in Driver Education and Safety class

obtain your learner’s permit in order to begin the behind-the-wheel instruction
The driver education behind-the-wheel program will run for four sessions at nine days per session. There will be no instruction on June 19, and July 1 to July 5. The driving session dates and times are as follows:

- 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
- 12:15 pm - 2:15 pm
Session 2
Monday, June 17 to Friday, June 28 (off June 19)
