ICATT Apprenticeship Program

Additional Information: All new hires are required to join the apprenticeship program.

Chicagoland Laborers Training and Apprentice Fund

Requirements:
- Letter of Intent to Hire
- Birth Certificate
- 18 years or older
- Social Security Card
- Photo ID
- High School Diploma, GED, or transcript showing completion of 10th Grade
Entry Process: The contractor must hire the candidate and complete a Sponsorship form on the Laborers’ website. The contractor will make a good-faith effort to employ hired candidates for 2 years.
Additional Information: All new hires are required to join the apprenticeship program.
2023 Openings: Year-round, with contractor sponsorship and letter of intent to hire.
Chicagoland Regional Council of Carpenters

Requirements:
- 17 years old to apply
- Original Social Security card,
- High School Diploma, GED or transcripts showing completion of two years (eight credits) of high school
- Recommendation letter from local union OR letter of intent to hire from a contractor
- Physically fit to work as a carpenter
Entry Process: Through contractor sponsorship and apply in-person at Carpenters Training Center in Elk Grove Village; or contact local union for a recommendation letter, then apply at Carpenters Training Center. Candidates must pass an aptitude test measuring vocabulary, arithmetic, and reasoning.

- High school transcripts showing completion of 1 year of high school algebra or IBEW equivalency course

Entry Process: Applications are taken year-round every Wednesday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

Sheet Metal Workers Local 73

Entry process: Apply in person during openings at Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 Training Center. Candidates will be invited to complete an aptitude test and will be required to pass a drug test and a physical exam.

Teamsters

Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid Drivers License
- Proof of age (Photo ID, Birth Certificate, etc.)
- High school diploma, high school transcripts showing graduation, or GED
- Illinois State Motor Vehicle Report, dated within 30 days of application
- Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation
- Able to meet requirements of U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for CDL
- $25 non-refundable application fee
Entry Process: Submit application at Illinois Teamsters Employers Apprenticeship and Training Fund. Applicants must pass a drug and alcohol screening and obtain a medical examiner certificate per USDOT requirements. Accepted applicants will be required to take and pass the physical exam and the drug/alcohol test. Applicants may be subject to a physical agility or fitness test on acceptance into the program. Applicants may be subject to an aptitude test. Applicants must be fluent in English to participate in training.
Elevator Constructors Local 2

- 18 years or older.
- Must possess the physical ability to perform the work of an elevator constructor.
- Application fee of $25 by money order
Entry Process: During openings, candidates must apply online to be signed up for an Elevator Industry Aptitude Test. Candidates who pass will be offered an interview with the JAC.
