Operating Engineers Local 150

Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED and a copy of High School Transcripts
- Live in IUOE Local 150 Jurisdiction
- Valid, current drivers license
- Statement of physical ability to perform the work of an Operating Engineer from a physician
Entry Process: Apply at a IUOE Local 150 office location during application period. Candidates will be evaluated based on prior skills, licenses and experiences. Candidates will be selected for a 5-day skills evaluation incorporating hands-on exercises and an oral interview.
Current openings: Applications for the Heavy Equipment Operators Apprenticeship will be open throughout October at District Council Halls and the Dugan Training Center in Wilmington. See the full schedule at https://local150.org/apply/. All halls and training centers will accept applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October. Applications for Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Geothermal Well Driller Operators and Construction and Building Inspector Apprenticeships accepted year-round at District Halls and Dugan Training Center during regular business hours.
Roofers Local 11

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pay a $20.00 non refundable application fee in the form of cash or money order.
- Original High School Diploma or GED or proof of 6 months’ employment as a roofer
- Must be able to speak and understand the English language. (Classes are in English.)
- Must show the following two forms of identification (a valid driver’s license and a valid social security card are required).
Entry Process: Applications may be started online and completed at training center at Indian Head Park, IL. Candidates must complete a drug test within 24 hours of receiving calls for work. Candidates will be assigned to a contractor based on work availability.

Chicagoland Laborers Training and Apprentice Fund

Entry Process: Contractor must hire candidate and complete a Sponsorship application on Laborers’ website. Contractor will make a good faith effort to employ hired candidates for 2 years.
Additional Information: All new hires are required to join the Laborer’s Union.

Entry Process: Applications for both the Construction program (A-Card) and Communications program (C-Card) are taken year round every Wednesday from 9:00am until 11:00am.

ACT WorkKeys® Assessment Score Report with Scale Score for: Applied Math, Workplace Documents and Graphic Literacy dated within one year of application date
Entry Process: Once a quarter or as applicants are needed, applicants who submit the required documents and are within the top scores on the aptitude test will be rated and given all the information where and when to appear for an interview. Applicants will then be added to a ranked list based on their interview. Applicants will need to pass a drug screen, physical and physical agility evaluation to be eligible for employment. Applications are accepted year-round and applicants will be reviewed each quarter. Ranks will change as additional applications are received.
Current Openings: Applications for the Building program are accepted year-round. Applications with contractor sponsorship are also accepted for the Fencing program year-round.
Sheet Metal Workers Local 73

Entry process: Apply in person during openings at Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 Training Center. Candidates will be invited to complete an aptitude test, and will be required to pass drug test, and a physical exam.

Mid-America Regional Council of Carpenters

- High School Diploma, GED or transcripts showing completion of two years (eight credits) of high school
- Physically fit to work as a carpenter
- $25 check or money order
Entry Process: Applications available at Carpenters Training Center in Elk Grove Village during openings. Candidates with a sponsorship letter from a Carpenter contractor can apply any time. Candidates must pass an aptitude test measuring vocabulary, arithmetic, and reasoning.
Openings: Potential opening for Floor Coverers Apprenticeship in near future.
Heat & Frost Insulators Local 17
