Certified Nurse s Assistant Program

CNA Dual Enrollment Cohort

Are you interested in a career in the medical field?  With the CNA Dual Enrollment Cohort you can become an Illinois Department of Public Health Certified Nurse's Assistant!  

We are excited to provide you with this unique opportunity to earn an entry-level professional medical certification while in high school! The CNA credential is a building block of the medical field that will allow you to continue to grow as you gain experience.

Typical Class Schedule

  • Monday: Triton College NAS 100 Course, 2:30-4:15
  • Tuesday: Triton College NAS 100 Course, 2:30-4:15
  • Wednesday: Triton College NAS 100 Course, 2:30-4:15
  • Thursday: Triton College NAS 100 Course, 2:30-4:15
  • Friday: DVR Work-Based Learning Course, 2:30-3:45
  • Saturday: Clinical Site Visits 7:00 AM - 3:00PM

Triton College NAS Classes meet in Building H, and students are dual-enrolled: earning credit at Leyden High School and Triton College.


The Details

  •  TDE 310
  • 1 Semester or .5 a Credit
  • Grades: 11, 12
  • Prerequisites: Medical Careers, OR, AP Bio, OR Anatomy and Physiology
  • Scores of 480 or better on SAT EBRW  OR  a score of 440 or better combined Reading and Writing score on the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER Placement Exam are required for acceptance into the program.
  • Prior to the start of class students must complete a Healthcare Worker Background Check Form, Finger Printing, Castle Branch Immunization Documentation (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Drug Screen, AHA BLS CPR, and have  proof of hospitalization insurance.

Students that successfully complete the course with a "C" or better will be waived of all fees.  Students who fail the course will be subject to a $1,250.00 course and book fee.
