Dr. Caneva is from Lockport, IL which is just about 45 minutes away from East Leyden. She began her teaching career in Chicago Public Schools as a high school English teacher and then became a teacher-librarian. After 15 years in CPS, she began as the librarian at East Leyden High School in 2019. Her hobbies are shooting hoops, reading, writing, and hanging out with her kids. Her favorite genre is mystery/romance.

Ms. Ciupinski is from Westmont, IL which is about 25 minutes away from West Leyden. She started her teaching career as a librarian in Chicago Public Schools before moving to Mannheim Middle School in Melrose Park in 2013 and then West Leyden in 2024. Her hobbies include reading, baking, embroidery, and anything else crafty. Her favorite genre is horror.
