I started as an Instructional Coach at Leyden in 2018, but I began my teaching career at Mott High School in Waterford, Michigan in 2004. In my eleven years at Mott, I taught a variety of courses mostly contained within the science and English departments and sponsored a range of clubs and organizations including National Honor Society, Students for Environmental Action, and Positive Peer Influence. I earned my Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with majors in Biology and English from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!).  While teaching, I completed my Master's coursework in chemistry at Oakland University with a focus on environmental science. After leaving my teaching position, I completed a second Master's degree in Public Policy at the University of Chicago concentrating on education policy.
