¡Bienvenidos! I am a third year science educator at East Leyden. I am honored to be part of such a beautiful community that values and exemplifies cultural diversity, equity and the pursuit of education.

Education

I graduated with a B.S in Biology and Secondary Education with minors in Spanish and Chemistry from Elmhurst College. I am currently working on obtaining a masters in education at National Louis University. 

Philosophy

I am a teacher who is very passionate about my career and I make sure that all my students feel welcomed, engaged, and challenged to be the best they can be. As a professional and as a person I value culture, family, community, and language. I always integrate these values in my teaching and I strive to provide an equitable education for all my students.  

Hobbies/Interests

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies include video games, soccer, movies, finding great places to eat around Chicago, and traveling. At Leyden I am a sponsor for two clubs: AKMY and mariachi club. During the summers, I visit my extended family in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico.
