Welcome to my page!  I began teaching as the Modern Languages Department Chair in 2020.  I have taught every level of Spanish as well as having traveled with students to Barcelona, Spain for an Exchange Program before coming to Leyden.  I am very excited to be in this Department Chair position because the mission of Leyden to educate, enrich and empower each student is why I began teaching originally.  I look forward to helping students achieve their goals during their time at Leyden, but, more importantly, to help them along their college, career and life paths.

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001.  I spent a year studying in Barcelona, Spain as well as playing for their Club Volleyball team.  I later received my Master's in Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa, where I spent 3 Summers living with a family and studying at the beautiful Santiago de Compostela in the Northwest region of Spain called Galicia.  I received my National Board Certification in 2016.

I enjoy volleyball, reading, golf and maintaining an active lifestyle.  I have 3 boys who keep me moving at all times!
