Bio
Greetings, I am Ian Stong and a Fine Art teacher at East and West Leyden High school. I am a 2020 graduate from Elmhurst University, earning my Bachelors in Fine Art Education focusing on graphic design and printmaking. I will be primarily teaching graphic design and drawing, with a bit of photography at both campuses. Prior to my journey in education I served four years in the United States Navy and did ~3.5 years contracting in the Middle East. Beyond pursuing my constant improvement as an educator and artist, I am an avid disc golfer and player of games.
Goals
My goals as an educator is to develop independent artists, with the ability to seek resources, plan, critique, and produce work through the creative process. Another goal is to develop real world skills that can transfer into an array of different creative career paths.
