Mr. Benion
I graduated from Romeoville High School in 1995. After graduation from high school, I went to Western Illinios University where I majored in Physical Education and minored in Health. I also earned a full scholarship for football and was a four year letter winner. I started my teaching career in the fall of 2000, where I worked four years at Joliet West High School. There I taught Junior/Senior Physical Education, Weight Training and Adaptive PE. I also was a varsity football coach and a varsity wrestling coach.
In the fall of 2004 I began teaching and coaching at Leyden High School. Since joining the Leyden team I have had many opportunities to grow as an educator. I have been a: Literacy Liaison, Technology Liaison, and Curriculum Advisory Counsel member. I also obtained my masters degree in 2007 from Concordia Chicago University in School Leadership. In 2008 I became a Deans' Assistant. As a Deans' Assistant I work with Guided Study students, Freshmen Study students, and students with poor attendance. I am curently a freshmen football coach, sponor the Freshman Tutoring Club, and West Leyden Service Project Club.
I have been marrid over ten years to my beautiful wife Stacey. We have three wonderful children Payton, Titus, and Isaac. We are thankful to be apart of the Leyden team!
