As a veteran teacher at Leyden High Schools, I have taught many courses in the English Department, coached teachers in disciplinary literacy as an instructional coach, and, most recently, taught courses and led the Literacy Department. As the Department Chair of Literacy, I teach three literacy courses at West in the morning and split my time between the East and West campuses in the afternoon to work with teachers and focus on tasks to make the Literacy Department curriculum a great experience for all learners!

My love of reading, writing and teenagers brought me into education, and I enjoy each and every day in the classroom with my students and colleagues!

My goal for learning is to engage students in the process by providing activities that help them see the need for strong literacy skills and a love of reading.
