Mr. Jim Rossetti
I am a 2000 graduate of Palatine High School. I have lived in Palatine my entire life. In fact, I bought a house less than a mile from the house I grew up in. I started my college career at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I left Marquette after a year and transferred to Illinois State University. I graduated from ISU in 2005. The years I spent at ISU were a blast, and I have a ton of memories from there that I will never forget. GO REDBIRDS!!! Since earning my bachelor’s degree, I have earned two master’s degrees. I earned a master’s degree in Administration and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.
I began my teaching career at Leyden in the fall of 2005. Leyden is the only place where I have taught. Leyden has been very good to me, and I love it here. I have taught English I and English III each year that I have been at Leyden. I am also on the wrestling and boys’ soccer coaching staffs. The memories of the wrestling team winning the sectional and reaching the “Elite 8” in 2010 will stay with me forever. I was fortunate to be part of the soccer team that won the sectional and reached the “Elite 8” in the fall of 2010. There is no way to describe that playoff run and the fun I had with that group of guys. Throughout my time at Leyden I have seen great accomplishments in the classroom and on the athletic fields. I know that with hard work and determination we can make this kind of success the norm.
