    Material Distribution Procedure Overview - STARTING MONDAY 8/24/20

    Students may need physical items from Leyden during the remote learning period.  The following procedure will be implemented to allow students to acquire materials necessary to meet course goals or other needs Leyden routinely provides students.  This process is subject to change based on volume of request. 

    Student Materials Pickup - Procedure Overview

     

    Packets/Supplies/Materials from Teachers: 

    1. Students may request materials from a teacher.  
    2. The Materials Distribution Coordinator will monitor the form and will process the request.  
      1. Communicating with the teacher, department chair, staff member, etc. to obtain the required materials.  
    3. If the request requires duplicating services, it is the responsibility of the teacher to fill out a duplication request (same procedure as during the school year).  
      1. The Materials Distribution Coordinator will pick up materials from the duplication center. 
    4. All completed requests will be housed on the north side of the Field House and may be picked up in drive through fashion.  Students may turn in any homework/materials at that time as well. 
    5. Once the Materials Distribution Coordinator emails you to to notify you that your materials are ready, your materials can be picked up on the north side of the Field house daily during three (3) time slots:
      1. 7:30am-8:45am, (except Wednesdays) 
      2. 10:45am-12:15pm
      3. 2:30pm-4:00pm. 
    6. If materials are not picked up within three (3) days, the Materials Distribution Coordinator will contact the teacher to return the materials to him/her.  The teacher may reach out to the Deans for support with students who are not engaging. 

    Library Books: 

    1. Students may request library books through the Destiny Book Catalog system.

    Technology Requests

    Send an email to studenttechsupport@leyden212.org that includes your name, ID number, and a description of the technology problem or call (847) 451-5591 and leave your name, ID number, and a description of the technology problem.  Walk-ins cannot be accommodated at this time. 


    Teacher Materials Handout - Procedure Overview

    Teachers, Librarians, Department Chairs, Student Services, Administration, etc. may also distribute materials via the Materials Distribution Coordinator.  Requests must be made by using this form and staff must allow a three (3) day lead time on all requests. 

    Class Sets of Materials: 

    • The Department Chair, Teacher, or Staff Member  will supply the Materials Distribution Coordinator with an electronic version of the  roster of students, including ID number (teachers can attach to the Google form), who should pick up the materials. This is the north side of the Field House on the daily 7:30am-8:45am, (except Wednesdays), 10:45am-12:15pm, 2:30pm-4:00.  
      • If the request requires duplicating services, it is the responsibility of the teacher to fill out a duplication request (same procedure as during the school year).   
      • It is the teacher’s responsibility to communicate the pick-up date to the students once the materials are ready.

    For Materials for Individual Students: 

    • If the teacher originates the request, follow the above procedure for class sets of materials. 
    • If the student initiates the request, follow the Student Materials Pickup procedure. 
    • If Student Services, the Deans’ Office, the Main Office, etc. needs to distribute materials to students, follow the same procedures. 

    Library books:  

    • Librarians will process Destiny Book Catalog requests.  
      • Librarians will: 1) pull the book, 2) check it out to the student, 3) label the book with the student’s full name, ID # and student email, 4) route the book to the Materials Distribution staff member, and
      •  Material distribution coordinator will notify the student the book is ready for pick up.
