I am a school social worker and have been at Leyden since 1998-1999.  As a school social worker I provide a variety of professional services which foster students' physical, social, emotional, and academic growth.  We promote and support the educational process by meeting the individual needs of students and families within the community.  We are often involved in helping students and their families with learning, behavior, and/or academic concerns while stregthening home, school, and community partnership.  Our services include:

*  providing crisis intervention and counseling

*  strengthening and supporting parent and family involvement

*  planning and developing school based interventions with educators

*  engaging and linking to community resources

*  assessing the need for special services
