    Principia is West Leyden's science club!  The overall goal is to compete at the Science Olympiad, which is the regional competition.  If anyone wins regionals, they are eligible for the state competition.  The Olympiad is composed of numerous events in all areas of science - biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, etc.  Students pick one or more events, practice the event (which is either a test or a lab), and then compete at the competition.  The club always makes a shirt to wear at the competition so we can represent Leyden!  During the school year, we meet to practice and also do fun science activities/field trips.
