Golden Ticket - Teaching

The mission of Leyden High School District 212 is to Educate, Enrich, and Empower our Students and Communities. The Board of Education at Leyden is committed to recruiting, hiring, and retaining a diverse staff that enhances the school community in regard to age, cultural background, physical abilities and disabilities, race, religion, sex, sexual identity, and gender identity.

Nationally, almost 60% of teachers are teaching within 20 miles of where they attended high school, but we want to make that even closer to home. Leyden District 212 is excited to announce our Golden Ticket initiative.  We want successful Leyden graduates like you to come back home and teach at the Leyden High Schools or the elementary where you attended. We want passionate future educators like you to inspire the next generation of Leyden students.

As a Leyden graduate, you are guaranteed an interview for a teaching position at Leyden or the  elementary district you graduated from. Leyden specifically is offering a $5,000 signing bonus if you are hired to teach full-time at one of the Leyden High Schools.

After being part of the #leydenpride family, we are aware that you know our community well and can connect with our students. We want to do everything we can to encourage teaching as a career path for our best and brightest. Come back home and help keep the Leyden community strong for the next generations of Eagles!
