Taste of East/West
The "Taste of Leyden" is an annual event offered at East and West in January, and helps incoming freshman and their families make a smooth transition to high school. This is the first event in a student’s career at Leyden High School and offers families and students a glimpse into the curriculum and many activities that are offered throughout the school year, including our advisory program.
Rising Eagles
Each year in December, Leyden administrators visit our local middle schools to answer questions and help ease the transition to high school. All incoming Leyden freshmen families are encouraged to attend and learn about:
- The enrollment and course selection process
- Activities and athletics
- Opportunities such as CoLab and English Language Learners (EL)
- Student support services
Check with your middle school for more information on the dates and times of the visit.
New Eagle Experience
Each year in August, East Leyden and West Leyden host all new students and families (incoming freshmen and transfer students) for a program and barbeque. These events provide an opportunity to connect with the Leyden community and prepare for the start of the school year. We kindly request freshmen and transfer students and their families only.
