    Volunteer Opportunities

     Please check back to see what opportunities are available and sign up right here on this page! Always remember to social distance, wash or sanitize hands, and wear a mask while working with others.
     Volunteers will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Once filled, the form and/or contacts will stop accepting responses.

    It is VERY important that if you sign up for an event you honor your commitment and SHOW UP!

    What:   Coaches and referees needed for Flag Football. Coaching begins 9/11 for 9 weeks and referees start 9/18 for 8 weeks.  6 volunteers are needed.

  • Franklin Park Trick or Treat in the Park

    River Grove Library Volunteering

    What:  You will be preparing craft kits, organizing books, cleaning shelves, helping set up/tear down programs, and moving books for our future shelving projects.

  • Franklin Park Polar Express Events


    When:  Saturday, December 11, 2021  2:00pm - 5:00pm and/or 

                 Saturday, December 18, 2021  2:00pm - 5:00pm


    Where: Franklin Park Metra Train Station, 3148 Rose St. (25th and Franklin), Franklin Park, IL 60131 

    Who/Contact: Tim Skladzien, tskladzien@fpparks.org 

    What: The Franklin Park Park District has 1 possibly 2 Polar Express events in December.  Volunteers ride the "Polar Express" train from Franklin Park to Elgin, where we pick up Santa and he rides with the families on the train back to Franklin Park. Volunteers will sign in participants, distribue and collect song books at the end of the event and help Santa to keep the event running smoothly.   WE ALWAYS APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!

    Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry & Clothing Closet


    When: Ongoing Saturdays

    Time: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM (exceptions can be made)

    Where: 2825 Hawthorne St., Franklin Park (little blue house)

    Help out at the Interfaith Outreach food pantry and clothing closet.  Help in fulfilling guests’ shopping orders, bagging groceries, carrying items to cars, searching for specific clothing needs and various pantry/closet needs as they arise.  Guests are not currently allowed within the pantry house, so your help is needed more than ever to help ensure a smooth process.  Directly helping those in our community then helps earn you service hours.  A Win for everyone!  Thank you.
