Roadmap to Reopen Schools
District 212 will begin the transition to a hybrid in-school learning model. Administrators have been closely monitoring school health metrics and considering when it would be safe to return to in-person instruction at both campuses.
During the past several weeks there have been encouraging trends in those metrics. As long as these trends continue, Leyden will move forward with the Roadmap to Reopening plan which includes a multiple-phase approach to welcoming students back to in-school instruction. The students’ physical return to their respective schools will occur in a prudent and responsible way.
To expedite the transition back to school, we encourage families to practice hand washing, observe social distancing, and to wear masks and face coverings in public.
Please note that families will have the option of selecting a remote-only program through an upcoming survey.
Due to the evolving situation situation, our goals to inform and update the school community include:
- Timely, frequent, and accurate information through the school year. This includes information about instruction, technology, safety and wellness standards.
- Updates on Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois State Board of Education, and Center for Disease Control guidelines as they pertain to school programs and the 2020-21 school year.
This page was created to help you find updates related to the 2020-21 school year. Here you will find pages containing:
- letters to families
- video messages from the superintendent
- school schedules
- meal service procedures
- answers to frequently asked questions
