    CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

If you were not able to join us in Ecology Club first semester, you missed a lot!  We worked on habitat restoration at three different forest preserves: Deer Grove, Schiller Woods and Robinson Woods.  Habitat restoration includes collecting seeds from native plants, planting them later in the year, and cutting down invasive species - mostly small trees - and burning them in bonfires. We volunteered down in Chicago at the Hot Chocolate race, took our annual field trip to Brookfield Zoo and ended the semester with our Christmas party. But it's not too late!  You can still join the club and partake in second semester activities:

More habitat restoration at various forest preserves
    Monarch butterfly waystation development
    Frog calling surveys
    Annual trip to Shedd Aquarium
    Forest Preserve Earth Day Celebration
    Schiller Park Earth Day Celebration
    Canoe trip
    End of year party

If you were not able to join us in Ecology Club first semester, you missed a lot!  We worked on habitat restoration at three different forest preserves: Deer Grove, Schiller Woods and Robinson Woods.  Habitat restoration includes collecting seeds from native plants, planting them later in the year, and cutting down invasive species - mostly small trees - and burning them in bonfires. We volunteered down in Chicago at the Hot Chocolate race, took our annual field trip to Brookfield Zoo and ended the semester with our Christmas party. But it's not too late!  You can still join the club and partake in second semester activities:

More habitat restoration at various forest preserves
    Monarch butterfly waystation development
    Frog calling surveys
    Annual trip to Shedd Aquarium
    Forest Preserve Earth Day Celebration
    Schiller Park Earth Day Celebration
    Canoe trip
    End of year party

Ecology Club meets on Mondays, at 3:05 in Room 101.Contact Mr. Pozen for more information.
