September 10, 2019: “Planning & Paying for College” 6:30-7:30 p.m. @ East Leyden
This one hour program will include information on applying to both 2 and 4-year colleges, as well as detailed information regarding the financial aid process. This will be your first step in helping your son/daughter develop their postsecondary plan. We will see you there!

October 9, 2019: “FAFSA Fest” 6:00 p.m. @ West Leyden
October 10, 2019: “FAFSA Fest” 6:00 p.m. @ East Leyden
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens to current senior families on October 1, 2019. If you need assistance, plan to attend FAFSA Fest where you will receive step-by-step help through the application. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Choose the evening and location that works best for you.

TRADES FAIR - 9/11
Are your Junior and Seniors interested in learning about post-secondary options other than 4-year colleges? Leyden will be hosting a Trades Fair at West Leyden in the fieldhouse campus on Wednesday, September 11th. Learn about up and coming trades including Automotive Tech, Culinary, Cosmetology, Barbering, Carpentry, HVAC, Health Careers, and Manufacturing. Contact Mr. Holthouse to have your class participate.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY- 10/19
Do you know about Make a Difference Day, one of the largest annual single-days of service nationwide? Keep the Leyden tradition alive, and volunteer with your club or team! There will be over 30 projects right here in our own backyard. Commit to being a part of this day here. This event is open to BOTH East & West students and teachers. See you Saturday 10/19 8:00-12:00! See Mr. Holthouse with any questions.

CAREER FAIR - 11/6
Save the date for the 2019 Career Fair and Business Expo co-hosted with the Chamber by O’Hare! The fair is open 11:15 (period 5) through 3:00 PM in the East Leyden fieldhouse. This year we are featuring a variety of booths including Health, Criminal Justice, and Fire Science, and much more! Many of the companies are looking to hire. This is a great opportunity to find a job, or at the very least practice soft skills.
